We offer you the possibility of contacting former students who can look after your children or help them with their schoolwork in out-of-school hours, if you should need these services. We believe this service could be of interest and use to the families, as well as being a job opportunity for the former students.
This programme, which we’ve called Zurekin, is a project that emerged from an initiative by a group of post-secondary students: Xabier Rekalde, Mikel Rodríguez, Paul Carazo and Julen Sagastigordia. All four of them are now alumni.
How does it work?
The Zurekin programme is based on a job bank for alumni run by Lauaxeta. Any former students who wish to register and respond to the possible needs of the Ikastola’s families are welcome to do so. It gives them the chance of working in short-term temporary jobs, for example:
The Ikastola simply acts as an intermediary in this programme: the families and alumni themselves agree on how they will cater to each other’s needs.
The service will be available from mid-November, and the list of candidates will be updated as they register and at the start of each new academic year.
